Article I. New Characters
New characters have less power and knowledge and therefore are protected
to a limited degree from higher level and more experienced players. We try
to be a newbie friendly mud, and sometimes that conflicts with the role-play
attitude we advocate.
We do not tolerate stealing from newbies, or killing newbies with only one
exception: If they attack you first. We ask that you leave all newbies alone,
or role-play perhaps a mentor so that they may understand the game and attain
similar powers as yourself. Do not under any circumstances kill them just
because you do not like their name, and remember, if they don't know what in
character is, help them out and explain it so that they do indeed know.

Article II. Multiplay
Multiplay is limited here to using multiple characters and sharing equipment.
It is not recommended that your characters are related to each other, or that they
join opposing clans. By no means should you EVER multi-log without permission
from the staff.
Multilogging with an excuse such as a roommate must be cleared with one of the
head immortals and commented by them. Any new characters that you or your
roommate etc. create must be reported to these immortals so they can authorize
the usage. Do not assume all immortals know everything about you or your
roommate. Not reporting this and having it cleared by head immortals is a
bannable offense.

Article III. Role-play
Role-playing is strongly encouraged, but it is no longer enforced. We would
recommend that everyone does so, the game is just more fun that way. It is among
one of the greatest honors to have a mud that can mingle with each other and
enjoy what the game has to offer, as well as the company of the other players.

Article IV. Avoiding Death
We do not tolerate people that simple avoid death and/or role-play by logging
out, or going link dead. If there is any proof submitted that you did indeed do
such a thing we will give you the result that should have been declared in the
first place. You will die.

Article VI. Clan Membership
Clans, besides governments, are restricted to only 5 members at this time. The
minimums to join a clan is set by the clan leader, however, there will be no
newbies in any clan, whatsoever. A newbie that joins a clan is void of the
newbie protection rules.
New clans will not be formed unless there is a significant demand for the new
clan, and there is a playerbase to support the normally existing clans. New
clans will require at least 3 mortal sponsors, an immortal sponsor, a clan
charter, and 20 million credits. Mortal sponsors do not have to be future
members, and cannot be the immortal sponsor. Immortal sponsors may not be
substituted for mortal sponsors and vice versa.
Clan charters require the following information:
- Type of Clan: Government, Criminal, Business
- Purpose of Clan: Collaboration of a profession such as Smuggler's Alliance. Perhaps combat New Republic.
- Clan Background: What the clan is about, what has it been doing, why is it surfacing now.
- Clan Location: Where you want to be located for the clan base.
- Clan Requirements: What does your clan value most, what types of skills do members need.

Article VII. Ship Rules
Ship rules are pretty simple, there is a static number of ships in the game for
the most part, so we do not wish to see them all being owned by a single
individual or organization. Clans may own up to 20 starfighters, 10 midships,
and 3 higher classed ships. Governments can own in addition to clan restricted
vessels[star destroyers, etc], 10 starfighters, 5 midships, and 3 higher
classed ships. Individuals can own no more than 2 starfighters, 1 midship, and
a frigate. No exchanges can be made. There will be more ships added in game
in time so the intervals may change significantly in the future. Ship ownership
rules can be waived as long as there are no complaints.
We also request that you do not become your own ship black market. What we mean
by that is purchasing a ship, stripping it for parts, and then reselling the
ship and parts individually. If you wish to strip your own ship that is fine,
but just going around buying ships to strip them is unacceptable. There are
newer players that cannot afford to equip a ship from scrap metal.i

Article VIII. Engineering
If the engineering skills allow for custom names you may not do any of the
following; copy another item's name[Non-engineered], input flags[such as glowing
or relic], may not be completely graphical, like this =====.
Items that break the rules are subject to random deletion. The first two
portions of the rule are meant to help prevent against people conning other
people into believing that their item is indeed real when it is clearly a fake.
Also helps protect the builders identity whomever constructed the item first.
Graphical items are simply hard to read and understand, and would benefit no one t
see an item only in textual graphics.

Article IX. Respect
While you may or may not like the immortals, by playing this mud you agree to
give them due respect. The immortals are immortals of their own free will and
receive no compensation for their services. We [the staff] understand that
people may not always agree with us, but holding a grudge against us and
fighting with us just because you can is a quick way to get banned. If you
cannot work the the immortals working here, do all of us a favor and save
us some trouble, quit.
CLAUSE IX-A: Yes it is.
CLAUSE IX-B: No it isn't.

Article X. Player Killing
This article is still being amended as we transition from an RP enforced game to
an RP encouraged game. The staff is currently willing to review RP logs should
both parties consent, and use these logs to rule the PK legal or illegal.
The following reasons do not justify a role-play judgment:
- Accidental death
There is no RP to judge here.
- Presumed identities
Meaning proof of whom is whom, if you were killed accidentally then it is
judged as above, if they got the right person, then it doesn't matter.
- Being killed in a public ship
Public ships are not a shield for players. When a newbie gets killed, then we will care.
- Any death relating to clan war
Clan war kills previously were, and will always continue to be judged as
legitimate. That is what clan war is.
- Anything else that is circumstantial
Meaning that there are no technicalities here, we judge RP based on actual RP merit.
Our judgments will be based on the following things instead:
- Is the role of your killer clearly defined?
If the role of your killer is not clearly defined as your enemy, there is
somewhat of a leg to stand upon, if it is out of character for them to kill
you.
- Are the actions of your killer consistent with their defined role?
This follows the first rule to the letter, i.e. if you are ordered to
kill someone, and your player has no ethical qualms with murder, it is
expected that you do.

Article XI. Channel Usage
We have many channels available for usage, and they all have their own
respective purpose. Using them out of context will result in a correction, and
continued misusage will result in more firm punishments. To better illustrate
proper usage of channels, we have some channels that are IC[in character],
and some that are declared OOC[out of character]. Any knowledge acquired IC,
should probably not be used on an OOC channel, and vice versa. This severely
affects the way people learn what to expect regarding role-play. Bad habits are
hard to fix, so don't start. This portion is more of a recommendation, the next
portion is a hard line.
Spamming channels is also unacceptable. By spamming, we mean that channels
should not be overused, with similar statements, harassing statements,
advertisements, etc. A few lines of spam is acceptable, but if it goes much over
that it can and will be considered a problem.
The usage of profanity is permitted but that isn't a free check to cause problems.

Article XII. Cheating
We do not support, permit, advocate, or in any way tolerate cheating. Cheating
is simply abusing the system for your own advantage. This means that cheating is
limited to two things expressly, abusing bugs, and immortal intervention.
Immortal intervention means that someone on the staff is giving you things with
the intent to share it with their mortals, or just with the intention of playing
favorites.
Things that are often categorized with cheating include multiplaying,
multilogging, sharing equipment, and botting. These were are all prohibited
activities, but they are not actually "cheating". Multi-playing and sharing
equipment are now allowed.
A special note on multiplaying: as stated in Article II, multilogging may be
acceptable if and only if you've received special permission.
A special note on botting: Botting is NOT simply the usage of triggers. Bots are
specific triggers that require no one to be at the keyboard to perform simple or
complex tasks while the user is not watching the screen. If you use a bot
and are attentive, it will be dismissed as simply using triggers; we allow the use
of triggers.

Article XIII. Harassment
Any and all complaints of harassment will be investigated. This does not apply
to any IC[In character] threats as it pertains to the role-play of said
characters. However, if this extends out into OOC[out of character] realm, then
we have a problem. Please try to keep civilized, and if needed there will be
immortal intervention to help maintain the peace.

Article XIV. User Agreement
By playing this mud you acknowledge that all rules are subject to change, with
or without notification. You also acknowledge that you are responsible for
knowing and following all the details contained within this contract to be
eligible to play here. Failure to comply will result in any punishment that we
[the staff] feel is right for that particular moment. Judgments are swift,
often harsh, and are not negotiable.
If you do not accept our rules, you may petition to have them changed politely
through email, or usage of the idea command, as well as discussing them in a
civil manner over the public OOC[Out of character] channels.
Any rules that are misunderstood, or anything that is unclear, should be
addressed with the immortal staff, in a polite manner.
